You know OU is back in session when…

Some of our closest friends in the world, David and Kristina Russell, live in Nicaragua. It is very far away. We love them, and we miss them. Twice a year, however, they come home! There is much rejoicing on our part when they are here in the states with us! Yay!
This past week, we rented a cabin in Beaver’s Bend, Oklahoma and spent a few days with just the Russells and us. We played games, cooked smores, giggled (the girls anyway), and just enjoyed each others’ company. It was divine!
I did not take any pictures of the four of us (oops), but I did manage to capture their precious 14-month-old little boy and Chloe together. This is another one of Choe’s candidates for future husband, and I think they hit it off! She didn’t get to plant a kiss on Beckett (unlike with Levi), but she enjoy watching him run around and do silly things!
Chloe and Beckett…Beckett isn’t so sure about this girl beside him.
*Notice that Chloe is WAY smiling here, she has just learned to smile for the camera and loves doing it.*

Beckett is okay with Chloe and starts to smile…Chloe is now unsure.

Beckett leaning in for a close up with Chloe…Chloe thinking, “What is this guy doing?”

Chloe:: “I’ll teach you to check me out! I’ll yank out your hair. Come here you!”

Chloe emerges victorious and Beckett is confused about what just happened.

We love our friends and their sweet, mischievous baby boy!
So this post has little to do with Chloe (alright, nothing to do with Chloe), but I am so proud and have to share! Back in March, I tilled the ground, worked in some compost, and then planted some tiny little seeds in our backyard. And now…

My garden is growing! And producing! And it is so fun!

This is a tiny little bean! Can you see it?

True story: when my seedlings first started growing, I forgot what I planted where and did not know what was a seedling and what was a weed. So, my garden got overgrown with weeds! Boo! Since the garden is all organic though (with homemade compost), I couldn’t use weed killer. But, we mulched with grass clippings, and it took care of those pesky weeds! Hooray! I do have some white butterflies that keep nibbling on my broccoli and cauliflower, but there is enough for all of us! As I picked fresh vegetables and herbs, I felt a little like an early pilgrim (in my head at least). And all I could think was, “Thank you Lord for this bountiful harvest.” Kind of silly, but I am really amazed at the life that was created from packages of tiny little seeds. Yay for new life!
Today, Chloe went in the pool…

and splashed!

And then,

she decided to try and

drink water like the dogs.

Silly girl!

Ummm…so naked babies might be the cutest thing in the world! Seeing their little dimpled skin and chubby little rolls is too much fun! Recently, Chloe has learned two new tricks in the tub: how to splash (which she does so daintily and lady-like) and giving fish-style kisses to her toy fish and her mom (also adorable)! Here is a quick little glimpse of the fun!
Bath Time! from Jeremy Horton on Vimeo.
Hi friends!
So sorry that it has been a little while since we last posted! We are getting into the swing of baby things and still trying to balance life! Slightly crazy, but lots of fun! I wanted to once again say thank you for all of your prayers and support! God has been so faithful and has blessed us through you! For those of you who know me, you know that I stink at waiting and not doing anything. God has continually called me to do both throughout the past couple of weeks, and it has been hard. But, Jeremy and I are learning, depending, and enjoying (beginning to anyway =) waiting on Him.
As for Chloe, lots of stuff has been going on! We went to the doctor today for a weight check, and Chloe is up to 6 pounds and 3 ounces! We are so excited! Please pray that she continues to gain weight and grow into a healthy girl! She is smiling at us often and loves her bath time! She loves to hold hands and she and Jeremy have random cry fights to see who can make the loudest noise! We love her tons and are so thankful for each day!
My mom left today, and that is sad. Chloe is having Grandma withdrawals and occasionally looks at me as if to say, “You are not the same lady who usually rocks me!” We were so thankful to have her here and can’t wait for her to come back! Like Jeremy says though, the training wheels are coming off and now it is just the three of us! How are we doing, you ask? Well, the first feeding after my mom headed back to Kansas City, Jeremy was changing Chloe’s diaper. She has this really neat habit of going potty without her diaper on and getting herself and anything near her wet and/or dirty. It is slightly humorous and maddening at the same time! So, as Jeremy was changing her diaper, she began to go potty (dirty of course). He panicked and tried to move her, which made her spit up and then while trying to get her out of that, he pushed her off the end of the changing pad and bonked her head on the dresser. At that point, he just yelled, “I need help!” So, we are surviving and laughing at our hiccups along the way!
We love you all! Thanks for all of your support! Please continue to remember us in your prayers!
Like Jeremy said from the moment Chloe got moved to the NICU, she has made us use her middle name (Faith) more than once. The most amazing thing is that through this past 10 days, God has continually been faithful. His faithfulness has manifested itself through the love of our family and friends, through peace that surpasses understanding, through prayers, through poops =), and through so many other things. My heart and my emotions have been overwhelmed over and over again by His steadfastness. Thank you for walking through this with us. Thank you for ministering to us. Thank you for loving all of us. Please continue to pray that we would seek Him and His plans for Chloe. Pray that we would trust He loves her more than even us (which is hard to imagine) and that His heart is always for us and our good. Please continue to pray that we would lay our anxieties at His feet and seek peace from our hope in Him. Love you all!
I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for my friends! Today, at our doctor’s appointment, we found out that Chloe is measuring a little bit on the small side, so our doctor wants to do an ultrasound to check and see that everything is still going well. She isn’t too worried (because I am thin, tall and long torsoed), but it still is a little unsettling to hear that anything could even be the slightest bit off track. As soon as I got home, I facebooked a group of girls and asked them to pray for Jeremy, Chloe, and me. Throughout the day, I have received texts, facebook messages and emails letting me know that our family is in their minds and prayers. It means so much to have a body of believers surrounding us anytime we have needs! Thank you for your support and love! I love you all!

Welcome to our (my) new blog! Jeremy has been at this for a few years, but this is my first introduction to the blog scene–so bear with me! For those of you who know me well, you know that I am not so good at keeping in touch sometimes! Hopefully, this sight will be one more means of helping me keep those I love up to date!
