Chloe is into grabbing everything she can get her little hands on right now! It is surprising to see how far she can reach/to what lengths she will go to obtain something. She has quite a repertoire of Matrix style moves that allow her to maneuver toward things; this cache includes–but is not limited to–the following actions: leaning over the side of her bumbo chair to the point of tipping out, turning herself upside down in my arms, throwing herself forward superman style until she is parallel with the ground, and rolling around like a roly-poly. Once the object of her desire is in her tiny little fists, of course, it immediately goes to her mouth.
One of her favorite things to get into both her hands and mouth is tags. Yes, tags, like the things in your shirts. Don’t ask me why. She is strange in many ways that I cannot explain! But in the name of tag-loving, I pulled out my sewing machine (which I had banished to my closet after frustration with a previous project) and made her a…drumroll please…tag blanket! I cannot take full credit for this idea. My friend Danee (who I taught with in Norman) wrote about one that she made on her blog, and my mother-in-law also mentioned something like it. But, for your viewing pleasure–here is one of Chloe’s first interactions with her new blanket! (on a side note: I secretly desire for this to become her security blanket because I made it..is that selfish?)
Hmmm…this looks interesting.

Feels nice. Maybe I should taste it too.

Tags! Delicious! Just as I suspected!

I love my new blanket mom!

Hmmm…what are these…they look good too.

The tag blanket is a winner! (So are the toes!)
